A great opening

After 20 years of waiting, the Kororareka Marae Society finally had a building to call their own. On Friday 11th December, their building Haratu on the Russell waterfront was officially opened after a formal Powhiri and blessing. The opening was endorsed and well supported by prominent Māori leaders and official dignitaries, including the Human Rights Commission and politicians Shane Jones and David Clendon from the Green Party.
